(Kriegsmarine Koppleschloss). The belt is constructed of black leather, the left end is bent inward to a length of 7.5 cm to hold the hooked belt catch (which is stamped with the number “40”), with the date “1942” and illegible maker mark, a tongue measuring 20.9 cm is sewn onto the right-hand, rounded end of the belt, with seven pairs of holes to adjust the double claws of the buckle, beneath stamped with “90,” measures 4.5 cm (w) x 89 cm (l), with metal anchor and career insignia for Navigating Helmsman, Engine Personnel, Teletypist, Coastal Artillery, Artillery Mechanics, and Signals, with a rectangular buckle made of gilded, magnetic metal, with a slightly curved face, the obverse shows a circular centre shield stamped directly into the buckle, the reverse shows a standard catch and double-claw crossbar, unmarked, measures 6.5 cm (w) x 4.8 cm (h), and in overall very fine condition.
