A cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border, the obverse with a raised central “W” under an Imperial crown, and institution date “1914” in raised numbering on the lower arm, the reverse centre with a branch of three oak leaves below the crowned initials “FW,” with the original institution date “1813” in raised numbering on the lower arm, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, mounted to a medal bar with a horizontal pinback, measuring 42.58 mm (w) x 46.75 mm (h), and in good condition.
