(Heer Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Second Pattern (aka “Standard” version). An extremely rare oval badge constructed of silver, the obverse presents a gilded wreath of oak leaves tied with band at the bottom, topped by a Wehrmacht-style eagle, riveted to the wreath is a plummeting eagle, the reverse of the wreath presents the inscription “Fallschirmfunker Uffz. Willmann N.Z.” (“Parachute Radio Operator Unteroffizier Willmann” / N.Z. = Nachrichten Zug /Communications Platoon), “Fallschirm.-Inf. Btl.” (“Parachute Infantry Battalion”), reverse presents a vertical pinback with a round wire catch and tube hinge plus a retaining clasp, stamped with the silver hallmark “800” on reverse of eagle, measures 41.46 mm (w) x 54.25 mm (h), weighs 33.0 grams, and in extremely fine condition and rare.
