Germany, Luftwaffe. A Ground Assault Badge

(Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse with an oval oak leaf wreath with a ribbon on the bottom, topped by a Luftwaffe-style German eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a cloud towards the top and a lightning bolt striking the ground, the reverse plain, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, measuring 43.14 mm (w) x 56.57 mm (h), weighing 27.2 grams, in very fine condition.
