Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, by Adolf Scholze

(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). A badge constructed of oval-shaped bronzed zink, semi-hollow version, the obverse with a border of oak leaves tied at the base, a Heer-style national eagle clutching a mobile swastika perches at the top of the wreath, a Panzerkampfwagen IV superimposed in the centre on grassy ground, with its left tank track extending over the edge of the badge, the reverse plain with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, measuring 42.92 mm (w) x 62.44 mm (h); weighing 24.9 grams, in near mint condition.
