Germany, Third Reich. A Mining Rescue Honour Medal

(Grubenwehrwesen Abzeichen). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, obverse with central NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, on top of crossed hammers, reverse with raised inscription “Für Verdienste im Grubenwehrwesen” (“For Service in Mining Rescue”), measuring 35 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
