An award of the Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer (Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918), by Christian Lauer of Nürnberg, a bronzed iron (magnetic) cross pattée, swords cross between the arms, the obverse shows a laurel wreath surrounding the dates 1914 and 1918, the reverse smooth and stamped with the maker mark “L.NBG.” for Christian Lauer, measures 37.68 mm (w) x 41.94 mm (h), on ring through eyelet and suspended from period original ribbon, and in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by the award document, naming the award to the Polizei-Hauptwachtmeister Johannes Ohlert of Rostock, dated 9 November 1934, signed in black ink, measures 21 cm (w) x 14.75 cm (h), shows a folding crease and mild discolouration, and in very fine condition.
