(Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der NSDAP). Constructed of gilded tombak and multi-coloured enamels. The obverse presents with a central black mobile swastika within a bed of white enamels, with a red enameled edge inscribed “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE D.A.P.” (“National Socialist German Workers’ Party”). The reverse presents with a barrel hinge, a vertical pinback, a round wire catch, and NSDAP member number “44985” for Karl Aldinger. The badge is unmarked but bears the physical characteristics of manufacture by Deschler & Sohn, München. It measures 30.52 mm in diameter and weighs 14.3 grams. Minor scratching of the enamels is evident, but the badge is in an otherwise extremely fine condition.

Footnote: Karl Aldinger was born 1 September 1900 in Köln (Cologne). He joined the NSDAP on 4 October 1926 as member 44985. Aldinger was nominated for the Golden Party Badge on 18 June 1936 while employed as an electrician in Frankfurt. A further request was submitted on 19 July 1938, which was finally approved on 15 August 1938. On 25 January 1941, Aldinger’s Gauhauptstellenleiter submitted a request for a replacement Badge after he apparently lost the original. A replacement was approved and shipped to Aldinger on 28 March 1941.
