Constructed of gilded tombak, obverse depicts a Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) bearing a mobile swastika on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field with laurel branch wreath, unmarked, reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, measuring 36.67 mm (w) x 44.22 mm (h), weighing 34.8 grams, accompanied by its original case of issue, constructed of card stock with a faux black leather exterior, interior with a white satin-type lid liner, intact hinge cover, slotted off-white felt medal bed, with a functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, functional magnetic metal hinge, reverse maker marked “HAUPTMÜNZAMT, WIEN III” (“CENTRAL MINT, VIENNA”), measuring 70 mm (w) x 69 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
