A Cross Pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core within a ribbed silver border, the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date “1939” in raised numbering on the lower arm, the reverse plain with a barrel hinge and vertical banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, pinback marked with codes “4” and “L/16” for maker Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 44.01 mm (w) x 44.21 mm (h) and weighing 19.0 grams, accompanied by its period original case, constructed of cardstock with a faux black leather exterior, outline of Iron Cross embossed in silver on lid, white satin-type lid liner, intact hinge cover, slotted black felt medal bed, functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, functional magnetic metal hinge, measuring 69 mm (w) x 69 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
