This binder incorporates hundreds of ribbon samples/swatches from France, the Indian States, the Free Malay States, Great Britain, the United States and the Ephemeral Decorations. It consists of ninety-eight black pages, each of the pages containing multiple ribbon swatches fed through slotted areas on the pages, each with a sticker placed below identifying the particular swatch. Seventeen pages are devoted to France; eleven pages are dedicated to the Indian States and the Free Malay States; thirty-four pages are dedicated to Great Britain, with various oak leaves, rosettes and campaign clasps, among others; thirty-five pages are dedicated to the United States, and one page is dedicated to the Ephemeral Decorations. The binder has very thick front and back covers, the exteriors of both with a textured maroon look, each of the covers lined in red on the inside cover, the binding consisting of three 81.5 mm long brass screwposts along the left spine, measuring 485 mm in width x 305 mm in height x 95 mm in depth, exhibiting light wear along the exterior edges, extremely fine.

 

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
