(Ordensschnalle). A pair of decorations and medals including an Iron Cross, II Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 2. Klasse). A silver cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border, the obverse with a raised central W under an Imperial crown, and institution date 1914 in raised numbering on the lower arm, the reverse centre with a branch of three oak leaves below the crowned initials FW, with the original institution date 1813 in raised numbering on the lower arm, marked EW on loop for maker unknown, measuring 43.33 mm (w) x 47.76 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in good condition. A Württemberg Civil Merit Medal (Silberne Zivilverdienstmedaille König Karl). Instituted 6 November 1806. Type V. (1864-1891 Issue). A round medal constructed of silver, the obverse centre presents the right-facing profile of Karl with full beard, inscribed KARL KOENIG VON WUERTTEMBERG, maker marked under the neck with C. SCHNITZSPAHN F., reverse centre presents the inscription DEM VERDIENSTE (THE MERIT), surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves tied with a double ribbon, measuring 27,.82 mm in diameter, on loop for suspension from incorrect period original ribbon, and in very fine condition. The ribbons are affixed to a 75 mm long medal bar, with a horizontal pinback.
