Germany, RLB. An Air Raid Defence Medal

(Luftschutzehrenzeichen II. Stufe) Constructed of feinzink, on loop for suspension from its period correct replacement ribbon, the obverse consisting of a round oak leaf wreath with a large mobile swastika in the centre of the award, circumscribed by inscription “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR SERVICE IN AIR RAID PROTECTION”), reverse with central raised date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 38.52 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
