Constructed of zink, the obverse with an oval oak leaf wreath with a ribbon on the bottom and a Luftwaffe-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a cloud towards the top and a lightning bolt striking the ground, the reverse plain with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with three rivets holding eagle in place visible, maker marked on reverse “R.K.” for Rudolf Karnerth & Söhne, Gablonz, measuring 43.38 mm (w) x 56.40 mm (h), weighing 29.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
