Yugoslavia, Socialist Federal Republic. An Order of the People's Army with Silver Star, III Class

Multi-piece construction, insignia in silvered and gilt bronze with white enamels, mounted to a solid silver five-pointed star base, hallmarked for "900" silver quality and maker marked "IKOM" on the reverse, measuring 67 mm (w) x 64.2 mm (h), vertical pinback, one small chip in the white enamels on the centerpiece ring, otherwise the enamels are intact, better than very fine.

Footnote: The Order of the People's Army was instituted in 1952 as a military award for partisans who fought the Axis Forces during the Second World War. It was later awarded to individuals and organizations for merits in building and strengthening of the Armed Forces and commanding military units during peacetime.
