Germany, Imperial. A General Honour Cross of 1900

(Kreuz des Allgemeinen Ehrenzeichens 1900). Constructed of silver and Gold, on loop for suspension from its period correct replacement ribbon, consisting of a Ruppert Cross, the obverse with a central Gold applique bearing the monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II above a date of “1900”, the reverse with a Gold applique bearing an inscription of “VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT” (“SERVICE TO THE STATE”) inside of a laurel leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 39.85 mm (w) x 43.84 mm (h), weighing 12.9 grams in near extremely fine condition.
