Germany, Imperial. A Prussian Observer’s Badge, Sew-on Version, c.1916

In nickel-silver with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse with an enameled square insignia consisting of white, black, and red enamels mounted to the center of the obverse via two hooks on the reverse, the square insignia placed within a bed of sun rays and an oval wreath consisting of oak and laurel leaves, tied together at the bottom with a bow, topped by a German State Crown, the reverse plain, unmarked, measuring 45.63 mm (w) x 71.85 mm (h), weighing 24.0 grams, with eight holes for sew-on attachment, a rare variation in near extremely fine condition.
