Germany, Heer. A Heer (Army) Kuban Shield for Panzer Crews

(Kubanschild). Constructed of gilded tombak, the obverse with a central inscription of “KUBAN” above placenames “LAGUNEN”, “KRYMSKAJA”, and “NOWOROSSIJSK”, with a date of “1943”, topped by a Wehrmacht-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with a black wool backer, all four reverse attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 52 mm (w) x 60 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
