A cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core within a ribbed silver border, the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date 1939 in raised numbering on the lower arm, the reverse plain with a barrel hinge and vertical banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, measuring 43.91 mm (w) x 43.85 mm (h), weighing 20.5 grams, accompanied by its period original LDO case, constructed of cardstock with a faux black leather exterior, outline of initials LDO embossed in silver on lid, reverse stamped with L/11, with a white satin-type lid liner, intact hinge cover, slotted black felt medal bed, functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, functional magnetic metal hinge, measuring 68 mm (w) x 69 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
