In bronze gilt, number impressed "8802" on the edge, measuring 33.5 mm in diameter, light contact, on its original ribbon with brooch pinback, near extremely fine. Accompanied by its 37.5 mm (w) x 9.7 mm (h) ribbon bar with pinback and is 16.5 mm (w) x 3.7 mm (h) enameled ribbon bar with button hole attachment maker marked "B.B.B.Co PHILA." (Bailey, Banks & Biddle, Philadelphia).
Footnote: The Army of Cuban Occupation Medal was a military award created by the United States War Department in June 1915. The medal recognizes those service members who performed garrison occupation duty in the United States Protectorate over Cuba, following the close of the Spanish-American War. To be awarded the Army of Cuban Occupation Medal, a service member must have served within the geographical borders of Cuba between the dates of July 18, 1898 and May 20, 1902. The medal was primarily awarded to members of the United States Army, but was available to other branches of service under certain circumstances.
