Constructed of Gold with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the arms with red enamel bordered by gilt and black enameled bands, the obverse with a central applique bearing an enameled monogram of St. Vladimir the Great inside a gilt ring, the reverse with a silver institution date of 22 September 1782 in Cyrillic script on a black enameled background, with crossed swords piercing the centre applique, one swords with Russian Gold kokoshnik mark, measuring 35.04 mm (w) x 38.59 mm (h), weighing 10.5 grams, on loop with period original ribbon, minor flecking of enamels, otherwise in near extremely fine condition, accompanied by its period original case of issue, constructed of card stock with a faux red leather exterior, the obverse lid with a gold embossed Romanov imperial eagle, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner, folding depressed white felt medal bed, functional bronze snap button, measuring 57 mm (w) x 80 mm (l) x 27 mm (h), minor material fatigue, otherwise in better than very fine condition.
