A Cross Pattée of multi-piece construction, with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver border, the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date “1939” in raised numbering on the lower arm, the reverse plain with a barrel hinge and vertical banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44.28 mm (w) x 44.24 mm (h), weighing 18.7 grams, accompanied by its period original case of issue, constructed of card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the obverse lid with a silver embossed outline of a Cross Pattée, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner with an intact hinge cover, slotted beige felt medal bed, functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, functional magnetic metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition, accompanied by six black-and-white photographs of the recipient, including a solo studio portrait, measuring 124 mm (w) x 168 mm (h), the subject wearing a variety of decorations, including the Iron Cross First Class offered, as well as an Infantry Assault Badge in Silver, a Wound Badge in Silver, an a Close Combat Clasp; a studio portrait of the recipient with his wife, measuring 125 mm (w) x 175 mm (h); a photograph of the recipient with a dog, measuring 87 mm (w) x 128 mm (h); a field photograph, measuring 75 mm (w) x 60 mm (h); a family photograph, measuring 63 mm (w) x 93 mm (h), and; an additional studio portrait of the recipient and his wife, measuring 137 mm (w) x 89 mm (h), all in extremely fine condition.
