A collection of six cap badges, including a EISENBAHN TRUPPE (RAILWAY TROOPS) 1914 and 1916 cap badge, with horizontal pinback, measuring 40.23 mm (w) x 30.33 mm (h), and in near very fine condition. A Geb. Kan. Batt. 2/8 (GEBIRGS KANONEN BATTERIE / MOUNTAIN CANNON BATTERY) cap badge constructed of bronzed tombac, reverse presents two prongs, maker marked G. GURSCHNER WIEN VII, measuring 40.07 mm (w) x 31.16 mm (h), and in very fine condition. A Pasubio Artillery Group cap badge, reverse presents two prongs, maker marked GURSCHNER WIEN VII, measuring 42.42 mm (w) x 28.75 mm (h), and in near very fine condition. A FKR 15 (FELDKANONENREGIMENT 15) cap badge, reverse presents two prongs, measuring 41.80 mm (w) x 30.28 mm (h), and in good condition. A 1915-1918 Elektro Baon Badge, on a vertical pin, maker marked G. GURSCHNER WIEN VII, measures 24.47 mm (w) x 37.87 mm (h), and in near very fine condition. A gilded bronze Kameradschaftverband cap badge, maker marked on reverse RCB BRAUN WIEN VII NEUBAU, measuring 27.23 mm (w) x 35.72 mm (h), and in very fine condition.

 

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
