Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Silver Grade Honour Crosses of the German Mother

(Ehrenkreuze der Deutschen Mutter in Silber). A pair of Honour Crosses of the German Mother, Silver Grade, each constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, sun rays emanating between the arms of a Latin Cross from the centre applique, central medallion depicting a black enameled swastika ringed by a raised inscription of “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (“The German Mother”), on loops with period original ribbons, reverses inscribed with institution date of “16 Dezember 1938” and facsimile of the Führer and Reichskanzler, each unmarked, measuring 35 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in better than very fine condition.
