Constructed of silvered zink, on loop for suspension from its period correct replacement ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with a central mobile swastika inside an oak leaf wreath, the reverse with a date of “1939” inside an oak leaf wreath, with crossed swords piercing the centre, measuring 48.50 mm (w) x 49.68 mm (h), weighing 21.0 grams, accompanied by its period original pocket of issue, constructed of paper stock, the obverse with black ink inscription of “Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern”, the reverse maker marked “Moritz Hausch, Pforzheim”, measuring 59 mm (w) x 107 mm (h), with leather pouch, opening with a functional magnetic metal snap button, unmarked, measuring 130 mm (w) x 84 mm (h), including certificate of issue, named to Obergefreiter Josef Schwartz, dated 30 January 1945, measuring 139 mm (w) x 199 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
