Germany, Third Reich. A Cross of Honour of the German Mother, I Class with Case, by C.F. Zimmermann

(Ehrenkreuz der deutschen Mutter 1. Klasse). A Latin cross in gilded bronze, with blue enamelled arms bordered in white enamel, with sun rays emanating between the arms from the centre applique, central medallion depicting a black enamelled swastika ringed by a raised inscription of DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER (THE GERMAN MOTHER), the reverse inscribed with institution date of 16 Dezember 1938 and facsimile of the Führer and Reichskanzler, unmarked, measures 35.52 mm (w) x 45.70 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in extremely fine condition, accompanied by presentation case of issue constructed of dark blue with a facsimile of the award in gold on the lid, the interior is white satin in the lid, with an off-white velvet base, maker mark C.F. Zimmermann Pforzheim stamped on interior lid, measuring 50 mm (w) x 110 mm (l) x 15 mm (h), and in very fine condition.
