A Maltese cross in silvered tombac, the obverse with crossed swords between the arms of the cross and a circular raised border of oak leaves on the obverse with a raised mobile swastika in the center, the reverse plain with a vertical pinback, reverse of pin marked with number 62 for Kerbach & Österhelt, measuring 48.05 mm (w) x 48.23 mm (h), and in very fine condition, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy cardstock with textured faux leather black exterior, the lid embossed with an outline of a War Merit Cross, with a satin-type interior lid liner and intact interior fabric hinge cover, slotted black felt medal bed, functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, functional exterior metal hinge, maker marked Kerbach & Oesterhelt, Dresden A1 on lid, measuring 70 mm (w) x 68mm (l) x 18 mm (h), and in better than very fine condition.
