Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Fire Police EM/NCO’s Visorless Field Cap

(Feldmütze). A 1937 pattern, constructed of high-quality navy blue wool/rayon blend, featuring fold down side and back panels with gently sloping, downward scallops to the front and forward sides, the top presents carmine-red wool truppenfarbe piping (denoting fire brigades), the front centre of the cap presents a machine-woven second pattern wreathed Polizei-style national eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, in white rayon thread over a black trapezoidal rayon base, hand-stitched to the cap, the interior is fully lined in blue-grey rayon, stamped with size 57, measuring, when folded, 29 cm (w) x 10.6 cm (h), and in extremely fine condition.
