(Medaglia Al Merito "Benemerito Della Patria"). Instituted in 1848. In bronze, measuring 25.8 mm in diameter, spotting, replacement ring with incorrect however early ribbon, near extremely fine.

Footnote: This Merit Medal were conferred by an Assembly of Constituents of the Roman Republic, upon volunteers who saw combat during the Defence of Rome, as part of the First Italian War of Independence.
