A group of four First and Second War period medals, including a 1914 Iron Cross Second Class, constructed of silver with a blackened magnetic iron core, on loop for suspension from its period correct re ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a raised central “W”, with a reinstitution date of “1914” on the six o’clock arm and a royal crown on the twelve o’clock arm, the reverse with three central oak leaves, with a raised initial institution date of “1813” on the six o’clock arm and a royal crown with initials “FW” on the twelve o’clock arm, unmarked, measuring 42.98 mm (w) x 48.17 mm (h), weighing 16.3 grams, in extremely fine condition; a War Merit Cross Second Class with Swords, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period correct replacement ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with a central mobile swastika inside of an oak leaf wreath, the reverse with a raised date of “1939” inside of an oak leaf, with crossed swords piercing the centre of the cross, unmarked, measuring 48.32 mm (w) x 48.71 mm (h), weighing 25.2 grams, in extremely fine condition; an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with central dates of “1914-1918” inside of a laurel leaf wreath, with crossed swords piercing the centre of the cross, the reverse maker marked “”C. TH. D.”, measuring 37.08 mm (w) x 41.27 mm (h), weighing 14.6 grams, in extremely fine condition, and; a West Wall Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse consisting of a pillboxed topped by a crossed shovel and sword and a raised German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, inside of an oval oak leaf wreath, the reverse with inscription “FÜR ARBEIT ZUM SCHUTZE DEUTSCHLAND” (“FOR WORK IN THE DEFENCE OF GERMANY”), unmarked, measuring 32.75 mm (w) x 44.97 mm (h), weighing 15.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
