Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Second War Period Decorations

A pair of decorations, including a War Merit Medal (Kriegsverdienstmedaille), in bronze, the obverse presents a War Merit Cross, the reverse presents the inscription FÜR KRIEGSVERDIENST 1939 (FOR WARTIME MERIT 1939), measuring 32.51 mm in diameter, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in very fine condition. An Eastern People’s Bravery Decoration, II Class, Silver Grade (Verdienstauszeichnung für Angehörige der Ostvölker; 2. Klasse, in Silber). An eight-pointed silver star constructed of silvered zink, the obverse depicting a six-leaved rosette, surrounded by a laurel wreath tied together at the bottom via a ribbon, the reverse plain, on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, measuring 39.71 mm (w) x 45.41 mm (h), and in good condition.
