(1939 Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse). A cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver border, the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date 1939 in raised numbering on the lower arm, the reverse with an initial institution date of 1813 on the lower arm, marked on loop with illegible maker mark, measuring 44.21 mm (w) x 47.93 mm (h), on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, and in near very fine condition. Accompanied by its period original paper envelope, constructed of blue construction paper, the obverse presents the award title in black ink EISERNES KREUZ 2. KLASSE 1939, the reverse presents the maker mark ERNST L. MÜLLER, PFORZHEIM, measuring 10.4 cm (w) x 13.1 cm (h), and in good condition.
