Prussia, Kingdom. A General Honour Cross

(Kreuz des Allgemeinen Ehrenzeichens). Constructed of silver with gilt, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a central gilt medallion bearing a raised monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II, topped by a royal crown, with bottom date of “1900”, the reverse with an analogous medallion bearing an inscription of “VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT” (“SERVICE TO THE STATE”) inside of a laurel wreath, unmarked, measuring 40.53 mm (w) x 45.11 mm (h), weighing 19.7, in better than very fine condition.
