Germany, Imperial. A Boxer Rebellion Campaign Medal

(China-Denkmünze). Constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a depiction of a German national eagle grappling with a Chinese dragon, bordered by a laurel wreath, the reverse with a central monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II, topped by a German State Crown, circumscribed by inscription “VERDIENST UM DIE EXPEDITION NACH CHINA” (“SERVICE TO THE EXPEDITION IN CHINA”), bordered by a laurel wreath, unmarked, measuring 32.66 mm (w) x 35.87 mm (h), weighing 16.4 grams, in very fine condition.
