(Der Königliche Kronen Orden, Kreuz 4. Klasse). Instituted on 18 October 1861. Type II. (1867-1918 Issue). A cross pattée constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse centre presents a central gilded medallion depicting the Royal Crown, surrounded by a ring of blue enamel, inscribed GOTT MIT UNS in golden lettering, with golden arabesques directly below, the reverse centre presents a gilded medallion depicting the Royal Monogram of Wilhelm Rex, surrounded by a ring of blue enamel, inscribed DEN 18 OKTOBER 1861 in gilt lettering, measuring 43.07 mm (w) x 46.58 mm (h), with light chipping of the enamels on obverse, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in good condition.

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
