Austria, Imperial. A 25-Year Long Military Service Cross, III Class

(Militärdienstzeichen für 25 Jahre). Instituted 19 September 1849. Constructed of gilded and silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central silver applique in the form of a silvered Habsburg eagle, the reverse plain, with a single rivet visible, unmarked, measuring 33.86 mm (w) x 36.95 mm (h), weighing 11.6 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
