(Deutsches Kreuz in Silber). Instituted 28 September 1941. (1941-1945 issue). Constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a double-overlaid sunburst pattern with eight points, the center with a black enameled mobile swastika, within a stamped silvered circular wreath impressed with oak leaves, ribbons, and the introduction year “1941”; the inner and outer sides of the wreath feature a thin red enameled rings with a silver core in the middle, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, measuring 62.35 mm (w) x 62.70 mm (h), weighing 43.8 grams, some chipping of enamels in addition to tarnishing of silver, otherwise in better than very fine condition.
