A cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core within a within a ribbed silver border, the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date 1939 in raised numbering on the lower arm, the reverse plain with a barrel hinge soldered on its side and vertical pinback meeting a thick flat wire catch, pinback reverse marked with 100 for maker Rudolf Wächtler & Lange, Mittweida, measuring 43.82 mm (w) x 43.85 mm (h), and weighing 18.8 grams, accompanied by its period original case constructed of cardstock with a faux black leather exterior, with an outline of an Iron Cross embossed in silver on the exterior lid, with a white satin lining, with intact hinge cover, a slotted white-felt medal bed, with functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, with functional magnetic metal hinge, measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (l) x 17 mm (h), and in very fine condition.
