Constructed of gilded tombak, the obverse with a central Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) bearing a mobile swastika on a pebbled field, on top of crossed swords, within an oval laurel wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with code “30” for the Vienna Mint, measuring 36.24 mm (w) x 43.76 (h), weighing 34.3 grams, accompanied by its period original case of issue, constructed of card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted white felt medal bed, opening with a functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, with a functional magnetic metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
