Germany, Luftwaffe. An Observer Badge, by C.E. Juncker

(Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of nickel-silver, with a richly-detailed, oak leaf wreath bearing a stylized “J-1” type Luftwaffe eagle clutching a hand-filed mobile swastika, the reverse presents with a damaged barrel hinge, with an elongated round wire catch, two rivets at the top half of the reverse of the wreath securely hold the obverse eagle in position, the obverse of the eagle is stamped with a maker’s mark of C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 54.04 mm (h) x 52.81 mm (w), weighing 44.8 grams, with wartime repaired catch, fair.
