Germany, Heer. A Panzer Assault Badge, Silver Grade, by E. Ferdinand Wiedmann

(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse with a border of oak leaves with a tie at the base and a Panzerkampfwagen IV superimposed in the centre on grassy ground, with its left tank track extending over the edge of the badge, topped by a Wehrmacht-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, marked with the logo of maker E. Ferdinand Wiedmann, Frankfurt-am-Main, measuring 42.10 mm (w) x 60.08 mm (h), weighing 39.6 grams, in near mint condition.
