Two-piece construction, in bronze gilt with red, white, purple and green enamels, measuring 34.5 mm (w) x 43 mm (h), original ribbon with brooch pinback, spotting, very light contact, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, marked "PURPLE HEART" on the lid, light wear and scuffing evident on the exterior, light wear on the medal bed lining, case very fine.
