A field cap constructed of field-grey wool, with fold-down panels with squared scallops to the front and forward sides, covering the entire neck on the sides and rear when unbuttoned, the panels are raised with their ends resting upon the visor, joined together by a single button, the front centre of the cap features a one-piece, combined insignia, late war and second pattern, BeVo woven construction in matte-silver grey thread over a field-grey rayon base, presenting an SS-style eagle with outstretched wings, clutching an encircled mobile swastika, above a skull and crossbones with a button jaw and a single row of teeth, hand-stitched to the cap, the cap has an extended-forward, wool covered visor with an internal cardboard stiffener, the interior of the cap is fully lined in champagne-coloured rayon, stamped with the size 59, measuring, when folded, 33 cm (w) x 15.5 cm (h), and in extremely fine condition.
