Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Duchy. An Adolf Friedrich Cross

(Adolf Friedrich Kreuz). A cross constructed of blackened iron, the obverse centre presents an oval medallion, presenting the crowned initials AF for Adolf Friedrich, surrounded by a laurel wreath, the reverse centre presents the inscription FÜR WERKE DER KRIEGSHILFE 1917 (FOR WORKS OF WAR ASSISTANCE 1917), measuring 39.24 mm (w) x 44.39 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, sewn to medal bar with reverse presenting out, and in near very fine condition.
