An extremely well-preserved Social Welfare Decoration, I Class Cross, constructed of fire-gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Geneva Cross with white enameled arms, the obverse with a central applique in the form of a black enameled NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse plain, on loop for suspension from hanger connecting to its period original neck ribbon, unmarked but displaying features standard of Godet & Co., measuring 52.81 mm (w) x 56.85 mm (h), weighing 39.4 grams, minor flecking and discolouration of enamels, with period repair to suspension loop, and in otherwise in extremely fine condition.
