A group of Estonian award documents, accompanied by a medal and photo, including a Commemorative Medal for the Estonian War of Independence, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, the obverse with a depiction of an Estonian soldier protecting a village, flanked by an inscription of “KODU KAITSEKS” (“FOR DEFENCE OF HOME”), the reverse with crossed swords on top of a laurel branch, topped by dates of “1918-1920”, above an inscription of “EESTI WABADUSSÕJA MÄLESTUSEKS” (“IN COMMEMORATION OF THE ESTONIAN LIBERATION WAR”), unmarked, measuring 28 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition, accompanied by its certificate of issue, dated 11 April 1923, measuring 229 mm (w) x 185 mm (h), in very fine condition; an award certificate for an Order of the White Star, II Class, dated 1 March 1938 and named to Saadik Aleksander Varmaile, measuring 280 mm (w) x 400 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; a reproduced black-and-white photograph of Dr. Vassili Valmre, 1901-1978, with a reverse inscription indicating that the photograph was taken in Haapsalu in 1940, measuring 88 mm (w) x 125 mm (h), includes negative of the photograph, in extremely fine condition.
