Russia, Imperial. An Imperial Society of Firemen Badge of Distinction

Constructed of silver, the obverse with central Cyrillic initials “ВА” for Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, inside of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, topped by a royal crown, joined together at the bottom by a fireman’s helmet and crossed axes, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, with a silver kokoshnik mark of “84” flanked by the symbol of the city of St. Petersburg, measuring 44.51 mm (w) x 61.18 mm (h), weighing 40.1 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
