Germany, Wehrmacht. A Rare Round 3 1939 Iron Cross, II Class, Deschler & Sohn

(1939 Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse). A cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver border, the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date 1939 in raised numbering on the lower arm, the number three presents as rounded, the version is attributed to Deschler & Sohn, the reverse with an initial institution date of 1813 on the lower arm, unmarked, measuring 44.33 mm (w) x 50.10 mm (h), weighing 19.2 grams, on loop for suspension from its period replacement ribbon, and in near very fine condition.
