A Grand Cross set of the Order of the German Eagle, featuring a sash badge, constructed of silver with enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms, the quadrants of the cross featuring NSDAP-style German national eagles clutching wreathed mobile swastikas on white enameled backgrounds, the twelve o’clock arm with a ribbed fan and integral loop with a suspension ring, connecting to a period original sash ribbon with a functional gilded bronze spring clip, the suspension loop with a silver purity mark of “900”, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by the firm of Gebrüder Godet & Co., Berlin, measuring 59.63 mm (w) x 66.05 mm (h), weighing 37.7 grams, in extremely fine condition, and; a breast star, constructed of silver with enamels, consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, the obverse bearing an applique in the form of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms, the quadrants of the cross with NSDAP-stye German national eagles clutching wreathed mobile swastikas on white enameled backgrounds, the reverse with a barrel hinge and narrow banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, the pinback with a silver purity mark of “900”, unmarked by with the physical characteristics of manufacture by the firm of Gebrüder Godet & Co., Berlin, measuring 79.98 mm (w) x 80.72 mm (h), weighing 53.0 grams, in extremely fine condition.
