Germany, Luftwaffe. A Radio Operator Badge, by Wilhelm Deumer

(Bordfunkerabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a mobile swastika, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching dual lightning bolts, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with two visible rivets holding the obverse eagle in place, maker marked “W. Deumer, Lüdenscheid”, measuring 42.49 mm (w) x 53.51 mm (h), weighing 25.6 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
